A home away from home for the traveler right on the beach. You can look out your window and see sea lions, dolphins, and penguins. If you take our little rowboat out a hundred meters you are likely to see a sea lion come up to you and look just as curious as you are. But what if you're not an adventurous type, prefering to bask in the sun and take in nature? That is also included. Whether you are a daredevil, a naturist or just a tired traveler, this is just the place for you. ![]() Prices vary for each room, so that we can acomodate your budget and travel needs as best as posible. We have a nice backyard where you can relax beneath apple, plum and membrillo trees. There is a myriad of wild life. Birds as far away as Canada come to partake in the nutrient rich seashore. To enjoy this wonderful experience, we at the Esmaralda offer bicycle rentals, camping equipment, travel information , maps, special tours and unique insight to island life; local style foods are prepared form seaweed to salmon. The owner appeared on local T. V. with his special Salmon preparations. Vegetarian meals are available as well as homemade bread. Cooking space is available and quiet picnic tables to relax. Breathe fresh salt air, watch wild life or read a book. We have a book exchange. If you haven't left home yet, bring a book. Non Spanish books are few and expensive. You can use our internet to browse the web or check your E-mail to stay in contact with the rest of the world. Studies have shown Chiloé to be one of the most pristine environments in the world. Rich clean air, abundant rainfall and sunshine with a volcanic soil has produced an environment where plants, animals and people live in an ecological balance. We speak English, Spanish and some German and Portuguese. |
